I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher, and love shading tangle patterns with the #2 HB pencil that is included in Zentangle® supply kits. The graphite takes well to the 140 lb watercolor paper used for the tiles, and then spreads beautifully for blending and shading with a tortillion or blending stump. I particularly like the beautiful fine point it takes with a hand sharpener. I can lay graphite down close to a line without leaving an open area next to the line or putting graphite on the other side of the line.

The white charcoal pencil is a delight to use on black tiles and for adding highlights to tangles. I like the way it lays the white down on tiles, and it is easily spread to create the look I want.

I am particularly happy to be able to use such wonderful quality pencils that are made in the USA! Thank you!
